Festive Flurry

This is a great little gift - stamp and cut with the coordinating framelits and it looks so lovely!!  I have heat embossed my snowflake with some white embossing powder mixed with a little dazzling diamonds so it's sparkly but it doesn't show up in the photo!

Joyful Christmas

This card started life as a tag for a gift, but then I changed my mind for the gift bag, gave the gift away and then I was left with this lovely tag!!  So I popped it onto the postcard for another Christmas Card!!

I really loved watercolouring this image - very therapeutic!!

Where do you get your inspiration?

Another place for my inspiration is the catalogue - and this card comes from the second last page in the Holiday Catalogue.... It was fun and quick, what do you think?

Inspiration

I am inspired regularly by other Stampin' Up! demonstrators and this time I'm inspired by my friend Jo, and you can see her card HERE.  I wasn't able to a very good job with the sparkles like she has, so I have settled with sponging in my mask.  I punched a large circle and then sponged for the bauble, and stamped over the mask for the pattern.  It looks fabulous, but it's not really too tricky!!!!

O Holy Night

This card is a CASE of a beautiful card made by Shelli Gardner, and you can see her card HERE.  I loved hers so much, I just had to have a try too.  Mine is a little simpler than hers, but I still really like it!!

Love a Challenge?

I do enjoy doing a challenge or two - it gets my creative juices going!!  This week at Just Add Ink the challenge is to add masking...... and so this was my starting point for my card....... however, I wanted to make this card for my son's birthday card AND I asked him what stamp sets he would like me to use for his birthday!  He is an awesome teenager so of course he chose 4 stamp sets - including the stamp:  Fabulous is what you are  (he has a sense of humour obviously!! hehehehe).  He chose By the Tide, and The Open Sea (I think he was a bit limited in the choices I have in my collection - quite a lot of girly/ flowery stamps - we have three daughters too!!).  For his greetings he chose Perfectly Penned and the Million and One stamp set (cause he's so fabulous!)

My first layer of the card was the mask - I was trying for some ocean colours for my ship - so I made a large rectangle frame and then sponged some Soft Sky, Marina Mist, and then Night of Navy.  My next layer was some atmospheric stamping with images from By the Tide - fish, coral, shells, and also the log book from The Open Sea.

My top layer I tried to make into a bit of rigging in the foreground for the greetings which I made into flags lashed to a pole - stamped with the Timber wheel and tied with linen thread.  I think it sort of looks like what I had in my head - but ultimately my son really liked it, and THAT is the important thing!!

Gotta love a teenager with a sense of humour!!

Joyful Christmas

I've seen quite a few examples of this great burnishing technique on blogs and you tube, so I thought I would give it a go - I have heat embossed in white the lovely floral image, and then sponged (burnished) colour into the flower and around for a lovely soft card.

I love how this turned out - so lovely and soft.

More Calm Christmas

This card is inspired from the illustration in the Holiday Catalogue showing this stamp set.  I have created it to be neutral with gold highlights - and I think it looks great.

I have head embossed the dove with gold ink and clear embossing powder, and then used gold foil for the flags which were embossed with the big shot and the Pretty Print embossing folder.  The background stamp is the Dictionary stamp.

Calm Christmas

Isn't this just so beautiful?  I CASED this card from my friend Jo, and it is a one layer card - with stamping over a mask to create the illusion of layers.

The colours used are: Soft Sky, Smoky Slate and Midnight Muse for the bird and greeting.  Gorgeous.

Colour Challenge

This week the challenge at Just Add Ink (check it out here!) is a colour challenge - and look at these great colours!!  I had to make a masculine card for an older man this week, so this became my masculine card for this challenge!!

I have used Clockworks, Gorgeous Grunge, and Delightful Dozen to create my card.

No flowers or ribbon on a guy card, BUT, I was able to use some bakers twine, linen thread and a couple of candy dots to add some extra texture and interest!!

Chevrons in Scrapbooking

This page I have CASED from our latest training magazine from Stampin' Up!, and it looks great in 'real life'.

I made a starburst mask and then spritzed the shape with pool party ink and Isocol.  The chevrons look great over the top of the starburst design.

A bit of washi tape for interest and some splatter stamped with Gorgeous Grunge, and voila, page done!!
Isn't that cool!!!

Crisp Cantaloupe Scrapbooking

This is another page using the great sketch from last months Scrapbooking Challenge at JAI - using the sketch certainly helped me to put together this page quite quickly.
JAI Scrap October

Once I settled onto my colour scheme and lacey details it was super quick!!  I have used Crisp Cantaloupe and the coordinating patterned paper with a paper doily cut into thirds for the scallop edge at the top third of the page.

A piece of delicate details lace tape for the flag under the picture,

and at the bottom left corner of the page completed the lacey theme.  The flowers are from Flower Shop stamp set, and the centres of the flowers are punched from filter paper with the teeny scallop punch.
